Earl Dalton Accepted into Coldiron Fellowship
February 7, 2023
Health Carousel's Chief Nursing Officer, Earl Dalton, has been accepted to the prestigious Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Fellowship Program at Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, part of the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy.
Upon completing the program, Earl will have broadened executive leadership skills to ensure that Health Carousel thrives at a time when the nation’s nursing workforce undergoes wide-sweeping changes, including the rapid rise of the nursing gig economy and a widening experience-complexity gap, growing as retirement-age nurses are exiting the profession more rapidly.
The program fosters the development of senior nurse executives, equipping them with the comprehensive skills necessary to become dynamic leaders in the healthcare field.
“Leadership is a passion in life, and my mantra is to leave things better than I found it,” Earl says. “I enjoy leadership—learning about it and continuing to grow my skill set. For me, this is a great way to give back and contribute to society—which, ultimately, is the mission of every nurse. In this program, I will learn from some of the brightest minds in nursing and work alongside nurse leaders who are making a real impact on the face of healthcare.”
Over the next 15 months, Earl will receive rigorous training from the nation’s preeminent leaders in healthcare. The program’s broad curriculum covers every facet of administrative leadership in nursing—from business skills to understanding the ethical implications of modern healthcare systems.
Earl's impressive career spans 27 years. He has worked as the Director of Emergency Services for TriHealth, Executive Director of Nursing at Stamford Memorial Hospital, and Director of Critical Care and Emergency Services at Duke University Health System.
