Josie King Hero Award

Courtney is a hard-working Radiology technician who is not only working full-time but also going to school. She has been working at the same facility for almost a year, which speaks to her dedication! Courtney goes above and beyond, working to make lives better for her patients and coworkers. She is a true teammate that anyone would be lucky to work with! Her dedication to her team and facility, to ensure they are staffed, helps to ensure patients are receiving timely and accurate care.

The facility said, "Courtney's exceptional dedication during the heavy STAT weekend was outstanding. Despite the relentless pace, she managed both the STAT and Routine list admirably, making them manageable for 3rd shift. Thank you for your constant efforts to serve our patients and your teamwork to support your peers. You are Awesome!"

Health Carousel presents two Josie King Hero Awards each year as part of our continued dedication to recognizing the hard work and dedication of our healthcare professionals who improve lives and make healthcare work better every day.

The Josie King Hero Award was created by the Josie King Foundation to be given to those who work hard to create a culture of patient safety – by listening to the patient/family; encouraging them to speak up and ask questions; improving communication; improving teamwork; looking for the good catches (near misses) and fixing those near misses before they harm a patient. These awards are for those who set an example for others every day and who inspire positive change.
